What Is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is the development of prominent breast tissue in the male.
The condition can develop during puberty or from excessive deposits of fatty tissue in the breast area.
Gynecomastia surgery can greatly enhance the cosmetic appearance of the male breast and pectoral region giving many men greater confidence and self esteem.

The main reason is social discomfort and esthetics.
Many men feel uncomfortable when wearing tight clothing or going to the beach showing off their chest.
Men just want to look masculine and well proportioned in their chest and pectoral area.
Often these men feel embarrassed or self conscious in front of their partners.
What Is Gynecomastia Surgery?
Gynecomastia Surgery is a cosmetic surgery that involves surgical excision and reduction of breast
tissue and fat that will reduce the size and shape of an enlarged male breast.
Where Is The Gynecomastia Surgery Performed?
The surgeries are performed in our accredited outpatient surgical centers located in
Newport Beach, Orange and Laguna Hills.
What Is The Average Length Of Gynecomastia Procedure?
The average length of Gynecomastia Procedure is between 1 and 2 hours.
An additional hour is spent in our recovery room under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What Type Of Anesthesia Is Used For Gynecomastia Surgery?
We perform this procedure under general anesthesia administered by a board certified anesthesiologist.
You will be asleep during the procedure and will awaken within minutes after the surgery is completed.
You will not be paralyzed during the surgery. We feel that our patients are more comfortable using this
form of anesthesia.
Anesthesia services are included in the cost of the procedure.
What Are the Risks Involved In Gynecomastia Surgery?
The most common risks of surgery may include bleeding, infection and prolonged swelling.
We recommend firm compression garments to prevent bleeding and control swelling.
What Is The Postoperative Period Like?
You will have discomfort, swelling and bruising at the surgical site for several days after surgery.
All patients are sent home with prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics.
We also recommend wearing a compression garment for 6 weeks after gynecomastia surgery to achieved the best results.
Full healing takes approximately six weeks.
How Many Post Operative Visits Are Required After Gynecomastia Surgery?
For our patients in the Orange County area we recommend 3 post operative visits at
two, six, and 12 weeks to insure proper healing and excellent results.
For our patients from out of town we recommend, if at all possible, a post operative visit at three to four weeks.
When Can I Return To Work Post Gynecomastia Surgery?
Most patients return to work in two to four days after surgery.
When Can I Resume Exercise Post Gynecomastia Surgery?
We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for at least two weeks.
Will Gynecomastia Surgery Result In Decrease Skin or Nipple Sensation?
Although loss of skin and nipple sensation is possible, the vast majority of
men should not notice any significant loss after surgery. f
What Is The Fee For Gynecomastia Surgery?
The fee for Gynecomastia surgery includes the charge for surgery, anesthesia, and all postoperative visits.
No interest financing is available.
