What does Restylane™ and Perlane™ cost?
The Restylane™ and Perlane™ at Spa Aesthetica is administered to correct mild to moderate facial wrinkles and to correct facial volume loss that occurs naturally with aging. The cost per syringe will range from $500 to $1000 depending on the complexity and nature of area to be injected. Most patients desiring lips augmentation will require 1 syringe (0.8cc). Dr. Reichner has found that, on average, the volume of filler required during the initial treatment cycle increases by at least one syringe for each decade over 30. This amount is enough to last for approximately 12 months in most patients. Patients should also expect to have “maintenance” injections yearly to maintain a youthful appearance.
Why should I seek a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon when considering products like Restylane™ and Perlane™?
Plastic surgeons are trained to understand the anatomy and artistic nature important for the proper use of this cosmetic medication. When exploring a doctor’s credentials, it is important to understand the differences in training that define the educational process leading to Board Certification. I believe that when looking for a cosmetic specialist you should highly consider board certified surgical specialists. Look at the surgeon’s training after medical school. Look at the surgeon’s board certifications. After you have researched a doctor’s credentials, the next step is to schedule a consultation. At your Spa Aesthetica consultation, our Coordinator will facilitate the entire process before you meet Dr. Reichner and she will help answer all of your questions about what to do before and after your Restylane™ and Perlane™ Treatments.
The evolution of the wrinkle filler has led to an amazingly effective product called Sculptra. But Sculptra is not a wrinkle filler, it’s a volumizer. It replaces the natural volume (fat) loss that occurs as we age – the volume loss that is responsible for the appearance of age.
A facelift will remove excess skin, and to some degree this will lessen the shadow effect, but a facelift will not restore volume. And volume is what makes you look young. So that’s why the introduction of a volumizer such as Sculptra is such an exciting event!
What’s Sculptra made of?
Sculptra is made up of poly L lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic biodegradable polymer that is both resorbable and bio compatible. PLLA has been widely used for many years in dissolvable sutures so it’s compatibility with the body is proven.
How does Sculptra™ work?
Sculptra is not a wrinkle filler, but a bio activator or “volumizer”. It works by stimulating the body to produce new collagen at the sites of injection, thereby replacing lost volume and contours to restore a fuller, more youthful appearance.
Sculptra does not give results immediately. There is a time factor involved since the true volume effect is created by your own collagen, not the product itself. This collagen replenishment takes place over a period of several months. Patients usually receive more than one injection session to accomplish optimum re-volumization.
