Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

The future is here with new technology in laser skin resurfacing with the MiXto SX®. Combining the effectiveness of Carbon Dioxide lasers long known to be the GOLD STANDARD in wrinkle removal with an innovative “quadrant” fractional technology and a more tightly focused beam, the MiXto SX® laser delivers uniform tissue ablation to the dermis causing immediate contraction and tissue tightening. A secondary effect is the production of new collagen over the next 6-12 weeks. This advanced technology delivers powerful results without the harsh side effects and downtime of traditional CO2 resurfacing.

The MiXto® treatment is giving all the benefits of traditional laser resurfacing, without general anesthesia, pain and prolonged downtime.

The benefits to the Patient are:

  • Immediate shrinkage of damaged skin
  • Minimal discomfort with topical anesthetic
  • Minimal downtime (5 days)
  • Softening of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Removal of age and sun spots

New collagen production for up to one year following treatment.

I have been very satisfied with the IPL treatments I have received over the past several years at Spa Aesthetica. My friends have commented how my skin looks so young, soft and clear. They comment over and over about how beautiful my skin appears and strangers also approach me and ask what cosmetics I use to make my skin so clear. Very positive experience!

Good Candidates for Laser Skin Resurfacing / Mixto CO2

If you have stubborn acne scars, uneven skin tone, crow’s feet or sagging skin, the laser skin resurfacing treatment is recommended for you. It rejuvenates your facial complexion by removing the top layer of skin. Signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines and sun spots can also be reduced resulting in a more youthful glow.

Dermatologists like Dr. Daniel Reichner also recommends this procedure if your skin is unresponsive following a bad facelift. However, if you have intense breakouts, open wounds or existing infections, you may be advised not to undergo this treatment.

Your Consultation

Let Dr. Reichner know about your goals and expectations during your initial consultation. He will discuss the possible risks but, more importantly, the benefits of the procedure with you. He might physically examine your target areas in order to come up with the right treatment course for your skin concerns.

What Is a Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Like?

The procedure starts with the application of a topical anesthetic to numb the target area 30-45 minutes before the laser treatment. Then, Dr. Reichner will employ the MiXto SX® to deliver uniform laser pulses in a scanning pattern across the target areas. The pulses of light energy removes the thin layer of damaged skin on the surface, activating your body’s natural healing process. It boosts collagen production and ultimately leads to skin renewal.

The actual laser treatment only takes 15-20 minutes depending on the extent of the target area.

The Recovery Process

Unlike traditional laser treatments, the Mixto CO2 fractional laser procedure is minimally invasive which gives patients quicker recovery times. It requires lesser downtime and patients can go back to their normal routines after a week. Minor complications like redness, tenderness and swelling may occur.

Stay away from prolonged exposure to the sun, and regularly apply sunscreen. To ease the swelling and discomfort, you can apply ice packs or cold compresses to the treated area.

Cost of Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing Treatments

The total cost of your skin resurfacing treatments will vary depending on the amount of work done and number of sessions required. The overall price can include clinic fees and other miscellaneous rates.
